We went to Lai’e today. You say it like Lay Eye. We passed it when we were on the Rainbow Bus and the lady who was talking said this was Mormon Country. Mom and Dad laughed then, they said Mormon Country was Utah, where Grandma Lynda is moving to, not Lai’e. However I’ve come to think Dad and Mom were wrong.
First we went to this pretty place that was called the Temple. Mom said it was the most special place on Earth. We went inside the Visitor’s Center where there was a presentation about “The Dead Sea Scrolls.” It sounded pretty scary to me, but Mom and Dad said it was very interesting. It was kinda like the museum because they had really old stuff. But Dad said these things were even older!
Afterwards we went to a store with lots of books. Mom said this was BYU-Hawaii College. Dad said he wanted to go here for classes and tests. I wasn’t sure what they meant since all I saw were books and no classes, but we got some stuff anyways.
Then we went to this store that makes movies Mom said are bad not so bad. Mom rented this one called Love Actually. She watched it when we got home, but I didn’t think it was a very fun movie. I think they should have gotten the movie Chicken Little.
Afterwards we were all really hungry so we stopped at this Chinese place. Mom and Dad said it was the worst food they’d had at a restaurant ever. When I got it second hand a couple hours later I had to agree. Mom says Buddhist Chinese people make better Chinese food than Mormon Chinese people and next time we’ll just have to go to Buddhist Country.
The last place we stopped at was the beach. We didn’t actually get in the water, we just stopped to rest since it was such a long drive home. All in all it was a fun day. I wouldn’t mind going back to Mormon Country. Dad says good, since we have to return the movie Mom rented.
