Sunburn, Fireworks and Diet

Yesterday was our nation’s birthday, we did all sorts of celebrating and I even got a present. First off we went to the prettiest beach I had ever seen.  We played in the water with some other friends and then we sat underneath our big umbrella.  Mom gooped me up with lots of lotion, except right under my eyes, where I ended up getting my first sunburn!  Ouch!  It looked like I was a raccoon.  I tried to rub it away, but that just made it hurt more.
Then we went to go pick up my present.  This one family had a rocking chair just my size, but they were all done with it and now I have one just like Mommy’s, but smaller.
We went to work with Dad and played with him, until I heard some loud noises outside.  Dad said it was time to go see the fireworks.  Now I didn’t know what fireworks were, but Mom and Dad both have told me not to eat, touch, or play with fire.  Not to be anywhere near it!  So what are we doing running to see these loud scary explosions?  But when I saw it, I understood.  There was fire in the sky in all the colors of the rainbow, and it was very pretty.  Dad and Mom held me, so I felt safe enough.
Today we went to go see how big I was again.  I am 22 pounds 11 ounces and 29 inches long.  Both way above the 95th percentile of babies my age.  Mom was pretty mad though.  The lady said I had to go on a diet.  I can only eat 24 ounces of formula a day from now on.  I am used to 36!  This isn’t going to be easy, and I am going to let Mom know that I am not happy!  Mom says that I am healthy but she doesn’t want me to get jooovenile arthricis from all the extra weight on my joints, so she will try really hard to keep me on my diet.  She says I get all the carrots and green beans I want though.  Score!
