Ok, I will try not to go 6 months without an update again. Actually, as Märia and I are pregnant, I feel I can guarantee updates and pictures on our expected one, starting today. We have had lots of requests for the spelling of the names, so I'm putting it down here in print.
Boy: Oren Palicroval
Girl: Seporah Scheherazade
So we went in for an appointment today, and we had an ultrasound. We are 13 weeks pregnant with one baby, and boy did that thing kick. I thought it was a little early to be training for the olympics, but I am guessing s/he will be a swimmer. =) Must be all the pool water Märia has been drinking. =)
You can see the face on the first picture, and the capital H shows where the heart is. I had to ask Märia if she had any late night visits by aliens mid-april. The radiologist told us all ultrasounds look like alien babies.
Although this may look like your average petshop lizard, this ultrasound shows the spinal cord. The head is on the left, and the rump is on the right. If you look it shows our baby is 6.2 cm long, which calculates out to being 12 weeks 4 days old, which is exactly what we estimated.
And as for the gender, according to all those old wives tales, the heartrate indicates it's a girl. But that is only about 80% accurate, so don't hold us to it or ask for returns of the pink teddys. (Update: Märia made me come back and edit this to make sure EVERYONE knows I meant teddybears. Apparently there were some upturned eyebrows and interesting calls) Just wait to find out what it really is, thats what we are doing. =)
