Headed to Texas

As most of you have heard, my grandmother died of cancer a couple of days ago. I waited on posting, until I knew Jason had received his red cross message in Iraq. I didnt want him to find out through a webpage. So tomorrow I fly home to Texas to attend the funeral, and see my grandfather, parents, brother, and the rest of the family.

Thoughts on coming home

Well, everyone it has been a few days since I've updated.

And I'm working with the chaplain.. which is definately busy work, but I love the company.. listening to Christian music and ordering things and such.. Great work.. If i ever reinlist.. i'm going to go be a Chaplains Assistant. Read More...

My Water Broke...

That got your attention didn't it, hehe. Actually it didn't. I went to sleep with an almost full open 16 oz. bottle of water in my hands (not on purpose) and I woke up really wet and cold. So I sat straight up and said "My water broke" to my husband. I thought it was pretty funny, he didn't though.
Lots of other things going on around this house. Mostly trying to get ready for holidays and baby. Steven should write in the next couple days. Just thought I'd give a funny.

Stained-Glass Masquerade by Casting Crowns

Is there anyone that fails?
Is there anyone that falls?
Am I the only one in church today feelin' so small?

Cause when I take a look around..
Everybody seems so strong.
I know they'll soon discover
That I don't belong Read More...

My First Post

Well since Steven's been writing quite a bit about me I thought I'd put in my two cents as well. Let's see, I got back on Saturday, November 19th from Washington. It was quite an eventful trip (a little too eventful as you can see from earlier posts). I had quite a bit of fun though. I saw several people I had not seen in a while, spent time with family, learned Josh outgrew me (sniff, sniff), met my nephew for the first time, went to some fun restaurants, and had a baby shower. BTW I wanted to thank everyone who came to my baby shower and my mom and Lynda for throwing it. It was pretty fun and the gifts were much needed. Read More...

Märia is coming home!

Yeah! Somehow Märia fooled the doctors at Madigan into letting her come home! So I will be picking her up at the airport tomorrow, late at night. Say yeah! Here is a quick military joke... Read More...

Going home again...

They are sending Märia home again with more meds to stop the contractions and delay labor. So I guess I won't be getting on a plane today. Yeah, thats the news. Read More...

Märia is back at the hospital...

Yeah, I just got off the phone again. She is having contractions again, and this time she can feel them. Last time she couldn't feel them at all; she only knew she was having them because a computer told her so. =) So she is on the way back to the hospital, where she will probably stay until Seporah is born. More news in the next few hours. I will post if I fly home (and give Lynda a call=). Read More...

Seporah's in a Hurry =)

Märia is safe at her parent's house, technically on bedrest. She says that she is having contractions again, slowly, and there is no way that Seporah is waiting 6 whole weeks for birth. =) I guess she is just in a hurry.

Märia is home now

Well, they let Märia go home after her mom promised to keep her in bed. She is technically on bedrest, and still not allowed to fly, so it will be a bit before we see each other again. She has another appointment on Friday. That is it for news.

Go over to GizmoProject.com, download Gizmo Project and add me, MacStreet. It is a great little program. Excellent voice chat and IM integration. =) Read More...

2 more days in the hospital, minimum

Well, it looks like Märia's contractions have stopped completely. They have stopped the anticontraction medication, and the contractions are not coming back. They want to hold her for at least 2 more days, and possibly up to 5 more days, just to make sure everything is fine. I don't quite understand why they are holding her. Read More...

Labor has stopped...

Well, it seems the medicine they have been giving her has stopped the labor. They will cease on the medicine tomorrow morning, and possibly hold her another day to make sure the labor doesn't come back. It seems that she isn't having gestational diabetes afterall. Apparently the steroids they gave her just before they took the tests threw them off. So the cause of the preterm labor is really up in the air, possibly just germies. Will update when we get more news.

As of now, we will not be moving to Hawaii after all, at least not until after the baby is born. So I will be putting a crib together over the next few days. =) Read More...

Quick Märia Update

---Quote---

To Whom It May Concern:

Mrs Märia D Rushing was admitted to Labor and Delivery unit at Madigan Army Medical Center due to preterm contractions and concern for preterm labor. She is currently undergoing treatment to stop labor. She is currently 33+1/7 weeks gestation. She was scheduled to fly to Georgia on 16 Nov 05; however, this is not medically recommended.

Well, it's Gestational Diabetes

Apparently Märia has had it the whole time, but she eats so well that no one picked up on it. She says that she didn't eat too many sweets yesterday at her baby shower, but I am guessing that is what aggravated everything. Read More...

May be having a baby...

... but probably not. If you havn't heard, Märia is in the hospital with pre-term labor. She was having contractions and everything when she woke up this morning. They are trying to stop the contractions. Maybe she will be able to come home, maybe not. They are saying they don't want her flying anymore, so she may have the baby in washington state. I will keep you posted. Read More...

Quick Update

Well, It's Monday night at 7:50, here in Iraq. And I figured I'd drop you guys a little update on my life. Today I woke up at about 7:30 and quickly dressed for work. I loaded up on my bike and then rode the mile and a half up to my van where I fix radios. I forgot to wake up Jason and Dan though . So they weren't happy with me, but luckily they got their rears in gear in about 10 minutes time, dressed and then rode the 2 minute ride to work. So we all made it (almost) on time. Read More...
